An early form of recording for posterity the uniquely human feature of the hand can be seen on cave walls on Lascaux, France and Rio Pinturas, Argentina.  The method was to grind a naturally occuring earth pigment into a fine powder, put a quantity into the mouth and then 'blow' the moistened mixture over an object (in this case the artists' hand) stencil-like. In the same way this competition entry seeks to permanently record, or 'tattoo' the sponsoring AIA logo on the glass surface, which is the support for the ubiquitous copper trophy plate, a mask emblasoned with the required event information.
